I got married! And it was awesome. As Kate mentioned, September 21st was a busy day for love around these parts. I can’t wait to show you a bit of my day! As everyone always warns, the day went by in a blur. I didn’t take a single picture and waiting the 3 weeks for professional photos feels like complete torture. This is one time that social media is proving its worth. Here is a sneak peek thanks to friends and family who have posted on Facebook and Instagram! Thanks you guys!
Dan and I both woke up with terrible colds on Saturday. All of the excitement and planning finally got to us. While everyone else sipped mimosas getting ready, I was downing tea with honey and lemon. Dan spent the morning shivering under an electric blanket. But when “go-time” hit, the adrenaline kicked in and those colds faded fast (until Sunday morning, at least). My biggest surprise of the day? I didn’t cry once. I fall into that stereotypical group of girls who cry at Hallmark commercials, so I fully expected to be a blubbering emotional mess. But I didn’t shed a single tear. With all that happiness, there just wasn’t any room for tears.
Leading up to the big day, people kept telling me (Hannah!) that this would be the best day of my life. I had a hard time believing them. I have had some pretty amazing days and I felt like the stress of throwing such a big party would make it impossible to fully enjoy myself. Well, I’ll be the first to admit that you were all right and I was wrong. It was, hands down, the very best day of my life. I can’t say thank you enough to everyone who made the day so incredible, from those who were there, to those who celebrated in spirit, and those who supported us and helped us prepare along the way. I keep reliving the day in my head, willing it to last just a bit longer. I’m so glad to have some pictures already to seal these joyous moments forever.
