3 products I’m absolutely loving lately. And here’s why…
NOOSA Yoghurt
This yoghurt company has charged out of the yogurt gate, quickly gaining popularity and popping up everywhere I turn. And with good reason. It is unbelievably good. Thick, rich, custard style yogurt is combined with 100% natural fruit puree, lightly sweetened with cane sugar and honey. The yogurt comes in a variety of amazing flavors, but I can’t seem to get enough of the strawberry rhubarb (it seriously tastes like pie filling!) Behind the exceptional taste and exceptional nutrition stats – 1 serving delivers only 130 calories, 6 g fat, & 9g sugar. Better yet, you can feel good about dipping your spoon into this container because the ingredients are real. The milk comes from a Colorado farm filled with happy cows and free of artificial growth hormones and preservatives. No gross additives, flavors or colors are happening in this yogurt. Amazing taste, great nutrition, and a company dedicated to real ingredients – I’m in! My only caution, the container is 2 servings so make sure you enjoy it at 2 different times!
Kodiak Cakes
I’ve never been a huge pancake lover, just ask my mom. Whenever pancakes were on the menu, breakfast or dinner, I always enthusiastically requested….eggs! When I do crave a pancake, it has to be the right one. Here’s my thing about pancakes. Ok 3 things. 1st, they always leave me feeling stuffed and on sugar overload. Sticky and sort of gross, you know? 2nd, despite the pancake coma that typically results I’m ALWAYS hungry an hour later. 2 hours on a good day. 3rd, you never really know what the nutrition stats are. Many of you probably don’t care about that but I like to have an idea of what my calories, carbs, protein etc. are looking like in a meal. For the most part I can estimate or have a generally good idea (thanks to many profession) but pancakes are tricky. Enter Kodiak Cakes. This mix is brilliant. A healthy wholegrain mix that you’re only adding water to. 1 serving of mix delivers 130 calories, 4g fiber and 7g protein, making it the perfect pancake portion to compliment a balanced breakfast. Add some fruit and yogurt, a side egg or top your Kodiak cake with nut butter and you’ll have a balanced breakfast to sustain you through the morning. No pancake coma here.
SUNBUTTER
Remember all those posts that proclaimed my love for almond butter? Well it’s got some competition. I’ll admit that for a while I thought of Sunbutter (sunflower seed spread) as the peanut butter-alternative kids were forced to eat in nut-friendly schools. I used to feel bad for them. Until I bought some of my own. Game changer. Can’t. Get. Enough. Seriously, I put it on everything from my morning oatmeal, cereal & yogurt bowls to a dinner time drizzle over sweet potatoes or grains and everything in between. The rich and creamy taste make it an addicting spread and with 1/3 less saturated fat than peanut butter, twice as much iron, fiber and vitamin E and zinc, in our family this butter is here to stay. And remember, while seemingly high in fat, this fat should be part of a healthy balanced diet! Just keep those portions in check!

It’s a staple in my life!!!! As for Kodiak cakes…why didn’t you tell me sooner?!?!
I know, i don’t know why I didn’t tell you about them! Except that they are hard to find around here…only 1 grocery store i know carries them.
I finally tried the noosa yoghurt… the strawberry rhubarb flavor caught my eye… and I’m hooked. It’s super creamy and a nice break from my usual daily greek yogurt – thanks for the recommendation!
