Santigold – Still Killin’ It
If you read the title of this post and didn’t think, “Oh, is her new album good? I forgot to listen to it because I am still obsessed with her debut album!” then get the hell out of here and come back when you’re obsessed with Santigold.
Just kidding, please don’t leave.

Tear it up. I’m so damn gold.
Tear it up. I’m so damn gold.

I do think that Santigold’s new album “Master of My Make-Believe” is like Santigold II in some respect, meaning that maybe you should take Santigold I before you skip right to II. I admit that it wasn’t until the 9th track (The Keepers) that I really got into it, but when I made it back to the first track, I was listening differently (and rocking my pants off) and it made it all the better. Now, I’m just excited that I have a new summer soundtrack, and it made it just in time.
In my opinion, the last 2 songs on the album are the best (thanks to their opening act of track 9, maybe?), but you can be the judge.
“Look At These Hoes” - This song will make you want to jump around. Might not be work appropriate.
“Big Mouth” – The one you might have heard recently, and the one that sounds most like her “old” stuff. Badass video. I’ve seen her live, and her backup dancers are just like they are in this video – all robotic and synchronized. I don’t get the weird turtlenecks, ruffly shorts and 8th grader hair though.
Have you heard the rest of the album? You with me on this?

That was an excellent concert. I think she’s playing the Pavillion this summer…just sayin.
Yeah, the 22nd maybe? I missed her at the State Theater, let’s go!!
