Interior Inspiration: An Insomniac’s Dream

A week after adopting a 5 week old puppy, I am exhausted. Really, really exhausted.  Having a little puppy is a heck of a lot like having an infant baby that moves. Quickly. Oliver has to be let out to go to the bathroom about every 2-3 hours.  And while Dan and I alternate trips outside, I still wake up every. single. time.  And let’s be honest here, 2-3 hour spurts of sleep make great for great cat naps, but don’t really cut it for me in the long-haul.  ANYWAY, I am in no way shape or form complaining about Oliver at all! I signed up for this whole puppy thing and I’m happy to deal with it.  Plus, it’s hard to ever be very upset when you look at his adorable little face.  But I have been craving some sleep.  So this week’s post is all about some of my favorite bedrooms.

I love, love, love this picture of Cassandra Ellis and Ed Prichard’s home as featured on Design*Sponge.  The simplicity of the bed, mixed with the country classic patchwork quilt and the white floors.  It reminds me of an old farmhouse on the coast of Maine.  It’s where you’d go to sleep after a long day spent combing the beach for seaglass.  Your feet would still be a bit sandy (no matter how much you tried to wash them off) and you’d fall asleep immediately upon hitting the sheets.  A cool seaside breeze would blow through the window.  (Side note: this home is actually in London, but a girl can dream, right?)

The rustic warmth of this bedroom makes me want to jump into that cozy bed.  I’d fill that nightstand/dresser with tons of classic books and spend hours reading there.  Don’t you just love the ceilings? This bedroom would be the perfect place to spend a rainy day.

The Pioneer Woman’s girls’ bedroom is so cool.  Designed by the Novogratz, it lives up to their reputation of rule breaking, fun design.  Look at those hanging beds! Genius! I wonder if they swing back and forth.  Did anybody catch that episode on HGTV?

This light, bright, and airy room’s ethereal feel is the perfect place to snuggle up under the covers.  Just imagine the dreams you’d have in here. It was featured on Bright.Bazaar awhile ago, but its crisp yet cozy feel will never grow old.

The punchy colors in this guest room by Bear Hill Interiors (via COCOCOZY) would rejuvenate even the sleepiest of travelers.  I can’t imagine waking up in one of those beds feeling anything but well-rested.  I love the fun combination of turquoise, chartreuse, and orange tempered by a lot of white.

No matter what your bedroom looks like, I hope you’re getting more rest than I am! ZZZzzzzz.
