Look: Oh Beautiful Beer
I hope that wherever you are, the weather has been as beautiful as it has been here in Maine over the past few days. When it’s (finally) warm, the sun is shining, and the breeze is laden with the smell of the salty ocean, all I want to do is plant myself on a dock/porch/beach/boat or anywhere outside and drink a nice cold beer. Luckily, we’ve got Memorial Day weekend coming up and the forecast is looking like it is going to grace us with more of this cold-beer-worthy weather!
The other thing that always makes me happy regardless of the temperature outside is great package design and fun typography. Are you doing the math? Have you come up with the solution to Beer + Great Package Design yet?
Oh Beautiful Beer is a blog dedicated to showcasing “remarkable graphic design from the world of beer.” I don’t know how I am seeing this for the first time, but many thanks to BeerME , part of one of my favorite companies LiveME (talk about great design!) for bringing this to my attention! I honestly judge beers and wines by their covers as it is, so this is really validating for me.

The OBB blog also introduced me to a social network I was unaware of – Untapped. You post what you’re drinking and where you’re drinking it and earn various badges for doing so. I definitely don’t drink enough interesting beers to warrant signing up just yet, but I know a good amount of people (ahem, hellllooo Colorado!) who would geek out over this!

Not only is the packaging beautiful, but it’s absolutely delicious, made by an awesome (local for me) brewery, and is quite possibly my favorite beer. You need to find it in Maine!!

Kristen- We got lots of Boulevard beers in Colorado, obsessed with Tank 7. We need to make a trip and go to the brewery!
Yes! You totally should! We’ll have to plan it in advance, because tours fill up quickly, but it’s really fun! (i guess if you were coming all the way to KC, we’d probably have to plan in advance anyway)
