Hey, Remember When…
You watched something on TV and then it was over? You didn’t look it up online, record and watch it later on DVR, or On Demand, Google it on your cell phone? People must have been better at describing things back then.
1. Jonas Damon’s Retro Wooden TV iPad Case 2. LG Classic TV
You enjoyed listening to the radio and it was the only way to listen to music without using a CD, tape or record? Sometimes even called them and requested your favorite song? (“The Birds and the Bees”, if you’re me, and 9. Yep.)
1. iHome iP4 FM Stero Boombox 2. Victoria Nostalgic Internet Radio
You could call someone 100 times in a row and they had no way of knowing it was you? I called my best friend 20 times in a row after I called the radio station.
1. Native Union Pop Handset for iPhone 2. Retro Handset Dock for iPhone
You went to the store, bought film, put the film in the camera and only then could you take photos? Then you’d take them to Rite Aid or the local photo store to get them developed…and then go back days later to pick them up? Crazy.
1. Olympus Pen E-PL2 2. La Sardinia Lomo Camera 3. Olympus Four-Thirds DSLR
I got A one of these (in red) for Christmas after a friend showed up to a party with this case. I thought it would just be some fun pseudo-retro one-upsmanship but we actually LOVE the handset and use it all the time–much better call quality than the iPhone usually gets
. I totally have my eye on that Victoria wood radio for later purchase!
Caitlin, I almost featured that huge cell phone case on my post too! I want one of those receivers for my iPhone in the worst way…maybe they’re on sale now?
If you talk on the phone regularly even once a week it’s totally worth the $26! So much more comfortable than holding your phone to your face, and the call quality is better on both ends.
As I read this article, I sighed in annoyance that I had to get up and flip my record over to the B side… obviously I could be listening to my ipod on my portable player but as you know, nothing gets to me like the scratchiness of good old vinyl… even if I have to get up to let the music continue to play. (It gave me a little chuckle.) Good showcase of old-meets-new devices!
