Interior Inspiration: Raw Wood
As Kristen settles back from her weekend in Portland, I’m filling in with today’s Interior Inspiration. I love having pieces in my home that tell a story and add a sense of history. One trend that I’ve been seeing more and more of lately captures all of that. Incorporating raw, unfinished wood into your decor adds a bit of heft, a bit of the the outdoors, and a bit of conversation.
If you’re not lucky enough to have gorgeous wood features like stairs and beams in your home, consider more moveable pieces like islands, shelving, dining tables, and containers.
I love the look if unfinished wood. It just has so much character. From small accents to huge statement pieces, mixing in natural elements adds so much depth and can work well in all kinds of decor. Thoughts? Anyone else feel like heading to the woods?

Maybe I’ve just read too many NYT style decor pieces in my day, but the exposed beams with white ceiling is pretty much the pinnacle of my design dreams. Gorgeous!
I totally agree!
Thanks so much for writing today! Great post – I’m loving this trend, too!
